The Ryokan Collection
Grand Renewal Open of Seto Inland Sea’s Luxury retreat - Hotel Ridge
April 20th 2019
Hotel Ridge, a luxurious natural escape located overlooking the whirlpools of Naruto, has reopened its doors with “RIDGE EXPERIENCE”.

Located less than an hour from the city of Tokushima on rugged Shimada Island, Hotel Ridge is an exclusive resort with just ten expansive suites. Each provides spectacular views of the famed Naruto Ohashi Bridge, the craggy islands of the Seto Inland Sea, and the untamed nature of the Setonaikai National Park, while the staggered layout ensures guests can repose in complete privacy.

Rooms
Slip through a covered cobblestone walkway into the luxurious world of your private suite, where picture windows and clean lines enhance the warm light of the Seto Inland Sea and the soothing whites and blues of the modern decor mirror the natural coastal beauty just beyond your expansive sun terrace. An Ohtani-yaki soaking tub big enough for two, rain shower, and sheltered interior deck offer a peaceful oasis for more private relaxation. Silky soft tatami mats, lush Imabari linens and plump sofa perches provide a subtle texture of refinement accented by dark wood shoji screens and the warm light of washi paper lamps, cocooning you in the sublime simplicity of Japanese design.
The new rooms of Yoso Western-style and Waso Modern Japanese-style rooms invite you to imagine aromatic scent of the breeze of mountain and ocean.
Fine Wine, Fine Dining
California Table
Floor-to-ceiling windows and a breezy open-air veranda provide unobstructed views on Naruto Ohashi Bridge and the Seto Inland Sea. It's the perfect backdrop for enjoying the unpretentious French fusion fare and rollicking selection of wines from across the globe, including many from award-winning partner winery Ridge Vineyards in Cupertino, California. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are drawn from the rich agriculture of Tokushima and Naruto, with a particular emphasis on Pacific seafood, for a unique menu every day.
Banriso
Partially renovated Banriso serving up flawless kaiseki, traditional multi-course Japanese dining, exclusively for staying guests. Breakfast is served in a sunny dining room reconstructed from a historic Hakone residence, relocated here to preserve the architecture and provide a homey traditional atmosphere.
