The Ryokan Collection is delighted to welcome a new member to its group of fine ryokan - The Hiramatsu Hotels & Resorts Sengokuhara, which recently opened in the famous resort town of Hakone, near Tokyo.

This is the third location of The Hiramatsu Hotels & Resorts, a newly launched brand from Hiramatsu Inc., a leading Japanese fine dining restaurant group well known for the superb cuisine at its 33 restaurants in Japan and abroad.
Hiramatsu's hotels reflect an original concept - the "European ryokan,” offering the exquisite cuisine for which the company is renowned, as well as fabulous art, comfortable rooms and unsurpassed "omotenashi,” the ancient Japanese art of hospitality.

The main attraction at Hiramatsu Sengokuhara, as at all Hiramatsu locations, is its first-class Italian cuisine, which reflects the skills and sensibility of Chef Kenjiro Yoshikoshi. The emphasis is on local, seasonal produce, prepared with prodigious skill and presented with artistic flair.

The rooms are simple and comfortable, with beautiful marble stone bathtubs facing the rolling hills of Hakone and filled with water from the area's famous hot spring sources. Half of the rooms have views of Mt. Fuji, and all of them have spacious verandas.

Enhancing the dining experience is the fabulous art collection, which includes numerous works by many of the greatest artists of the 20th century - works by Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Lyonel Feininger, Sonia Delaunay, and many others - around 100 works in all.

The cuisine, interior design and artworks all perfectly reflect the concept of Hiramatsu Sengokuhara - an elegant, modern and endlessly fascinating fusion of East and West.
